[Short sad drabble for
n_overstreet for the surprise of offering Lorrie Hesperidean Cider! An AU in if Lorel had come back. Screenshots on {{Tumblr}}.]
---
Nigel Overstreet has offered you a tiny sip of Hesperidean Cider. Splendid!
You took a sip of the Hesperidean Cider Nigel Overstreet (Nigel Overstreet in Fallen London) gave you. It tasted of the Garden and the time before men.
You now have 1 - A Meagre Aftertaste x A Taste of the Garden
A Taste of the Garden 1 - A Meagre Aftertaste The taste still lingers. The smell of earth and grass when you sleep. What will it bring?
---
Cassius sits, no longer Lorel, no longer as pavonine as before. Everything aches in this dreadful, damp place, but it is only flesh & bone. Sinews & organs held onto her slight frame. The invitation surprised her, a welcome surprise of many that weren't. This silly fop, this client that took off before his ridiculous quest's completion, she never expected to see him again. She frowns slightly as she lifts the glass. Before…before she would have been adverse to drinking the fabled Hesperidean Cider. Even though the claims of it were most likely false, immortality was nothing to risk. She'd seen paths it could lead to, where bodies would be hard-pressed to any longer be called human. Rotting corpses, exposed skeletons, only their spirit continuing to animate them. She wouldn't really call it "living". Before she considered that no kind of life for herself, but now she may as well be. Her own will being what continues her on, the duty she still had to complete. Murdering Scathewick was going to be marvellous. And that pledge, and that wish is what animates her own broken body. At least it isn't Venderbight's screecher wards.
It took awhile to process he was referring to her as "Ellis", the name processing over-and-over in her head. She hadn't heard it in so long, and the ridiculousness brings amusement which flickers in her eyes. With a smile resting on the edge of the glass, she inhales--it smells more of orchards in sunshine than any sort of alcohol. Memories of a home she can never return to again until she is truly, truly dead. Her only ever home. It is nice sitting here, and now all this time later she knows the why of Red Honey, the physical thirst to feel memories such as this home smelling cider. Before the nostalgia can turn to regrets she shoots the drink back. Letting all feeling go to the experience.

@LS_Cassius Accept at your leisure, Ellis. And there is plenty more where that came from!

Knives on a leash
Jun. 22nd, 2015 11:33 pm[Ashley commented on a post I shared on Facebook about a found "cat snake" (a ferret) that they looked like Knives. I wanted to try drawing it. I tried to capture the annoyance of being on a leash so I tried to add Lydia's pissy face. I went with purple as I think of it for

[Lorel sketch card! *Eeeeeeeeeeeee*]
Jun. 1st, 2015 05:33 pm[My hardcover copy of "Unlawful Good: An Anthology of Crime" finally came! Along with my sketch card Backer Reward--Adam Ferris' interpretation of Lorel.]

"Connected: Criminals 46 - Recognised On first-name terms with cut-purses, house-breakers, counterfeiters and what, in other cities, would probably be called the underworld."

[I've been playing a great deal of "Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective" currently. I bought it to play to relieve nerves before surgery, but I ended-up finishing it in 5-ish days D: While playing I kept thinking of my own little red-haired detective. That would be set on vengeance/answers, but would still not be disinclined to helping little girls & Top Pomeranians. Relatedly; for awhile I mused Lorel as a Geist character, with The Lonely Knight. But more related to this post; there are a lot of detectives in Ghost Trick, and a lot of them give "advice" or "tips" about detectives, including one about clues & mysteries are like minerals & vitamins to detectives.]
EDIT---
[I've also been playing the original "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" with an actual "The World Almanac and Book of Facts". This one is where I utterly fail to get the crown jewels back for London D: (even before Lorel Cassius I used 'Cassius' for the names of characters in games, especially Cassius Cassius-father of Maria Cassius-in "Princess Maker 2")]

The symbols of The Correspondence burn themselves into your sleeping mind. You awake to a terrible inhuman noise: it’s you, and you are screaming. The next few days pass in a blur of screaming, fire and blood. Are you mad? Are you dead? You are not sure.

[Since it seems more unlikely (especially given my laptop difficulties) that I'll finish the 3RD part or work on the 4TH (introduction to Robin), I figure I might as well post this here as well. Around Christmas I started trying to write 2 pages a part (short & manageable!) of Lorel meeting Alfred and what-not. I wanted to get out of my 'Sentence. Sentence. Sentence.' thing that I've fallen into (which annoys me), and just to write something no matter how poor quality I thought it was (I've had other things I've wanted to write, but I can't get into the mindset for it.). But anxiety & the pointlessness feelings are so that I don't feel I have the capacity to write any more.

This is how Lorel & Alfred met. I have ideas for, and used to think of writing out little adventures they had as partners, but I doubt I ever will. But this part here is about their first meeting. For those that don't know; Alfred is Lorel's spouse that was murdered, and also was her teacher & partner at the inquiry agent office they set-up (L & A). His murder was the reason she started her quest for vengeance, and why she took on the persona of L.S. Cassius & went to The 'Neath/London.]
------------
-----PART #1-----
( 'Your trousers are wet.'. It was a statement, a completely true but unexpected statement. The young man turned and grinned. )
-----PART #2-----
( After she had sat down, letting the cup warm into her fingers, inhaling the tea's steam, she finally snorted and told her uncle of her evening. )
-----PART #3 (unfinished)-----
( 'This is small, so the staff might have to launder items themselves. Larger establishments-or well to do-contract out. Or we are thought foolish.' )
------------
[Part 3 was going to lead into them exchanging letters and meeting whenever they were in the same area. And part 4 was going to be her meeting Robin and him being so amused at the type of woman his brother 'brought home', and how they formed a little group of detective siblings.
I've also added 2 things to AO3. And edited some Friends Groups to make it feel more safe to enable comments again (if you can't see something with a main account, try a secondary one. I never removed anyone so I know my Protected entries can still be seen).]
EDIT---

"Darling and lethal as vampire-kitten. Use a long-handled comb."
This was quickly drawn for Alexis Kennedy as an attempt at a thank-you. He sent me a
Luxuriantly Coiffed Sorrow-Spider after I e-mailed about my fuck-up of not knowing the Rose-bearing Maggot was only worth 3 Masquing and only if under 25 Masquing total. So thus after over a week of grinding for Gifts of Scorn, purchasing a bunch of Nex on Robin's account, and trying for over a day to draw the Lilac card again, I was 3 Masquing short of the Companion I wanted--Lettice, the Mercy (I got the Canny Costermonger earlier in the week as I was reminded of Lorrie). I had the choice of giving-up, or trading-in the Promissory Note for Intimate Favours I also bought, or waiting to see if Lettice became available another way. Given how horrible this month, and especially this week has been, I had taken the give-up option.
I expected no response to my e-mail, and felt silly for having sent one. But at 9:15PM AST I got:
( 'A good thing has happened.' )
-----
Also another thank-you to Gabriel & Jamie for last-minutely sending me the 2 Masquing items I wanted but the Robin's account does not have the Connected for. Mr. Morgan sent me the Glass of Teeth, & Imeja sent me a Key-to-Heart Dagger.
------------
And now have a bandaged Corvus mellori.

Finally posted that 2ND "AR Games" pictures entry.]

[Seriously; I can't stop grinning looking at this XD THANK-YOU!!!!]
(Velocipede! Velocipede! Velocipede! & VELOCIPEDE ALL THE WAY!)
I posted this back in September, but I thought I might as well put a link over here since I am actually trying to use this character journal now:
This is basically ramblings from Facebook over "An Affair With a Box" & Part #003 of Nemesis.
Quoted:
"I made a Facebook account for my character L.S. Cassius, for when Failbatter Games hooked "Echo Bazaar" into Facebook Connect and also as an outlet to role-play them.
I love the "Nemesis" story and wanted to post the events on FB, but I didn't want to post spoliers. So I waited a few weeks and then tried to be vague.
These were posted over about a month, and mostly from my phone at silly hours while I was in bed. The spelling is crap sometimes :P
"An Affair With a Box" is a story where you are hired to steal an iron box from a courier. "You were hired to steal a box by a Stuttering Fence [...]"
"Nemesis" is my Ambition. "Someone you loved is dead. You swore you'd scour the world for the killer. Your search brought you under the world."
( 'There will be a reckoning.' )
I posted more before this but this is more a story. I tried to post it a bit each day but often forgot to. There was around a 2 week gap in the "going to do something" and the "returned" bits.
